If you’ve been shopping for your future Porsche vehicle, you may have come across “PTM” written when describing some features of a Porsche model. But what do these letters stand for? Porsche Traction Management. Check out what this system really is, and how it works to potentially help keep your drive safer.
Safety and Stability in a Porsche vehicle
If you were thinking “all-wheel drive” for the PTM system, then you’d be right. This system that divides the power of your vehicle between the front and rear axle. This way, your vehicle can potentially be kept more stable during different and hazardous driving conditions.
There are two other systems that work in tandem to this one in order to make your drive safe, easy, and comfortable. They are; the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and the antislip regulation (ASR). As you might imagine, the Porsche Stability Management system works to help the stability of your vehicle. This can help especially if you are towing something in, say, the Porsche Macan. Alongside this system, the antislip regulation helps to prevent wheelspin.
